Commonly people with chronic neck pain get relief from medicine, massage or other therapies, only to have stiffness and pain return within hours or days. A new machine called the Multiple Cervical Unit enables doctors to go steps further in rehabilitating the cervical spine by pinpointing precise areas of weakness for therapy.

Advanced Spine and Rehabilitation is the first in Utah to have this innovative technology. This sit-down unit has a computerized system that allows for the real-time recording of cervical spine movement and strength in more than 1,000 unique positions. It also features a strengthening program for cervical spine rehabilitation. Individuals suitable for the machine include those with previous whiplash injuries, acute or chronic neck pain. We do an assessment for the total length and strength of the muscle and from that determine if the individual does or does not have cervical weakness. We use the data generated from the assessment to design an individualized program for the patient.
